2015 46th Norris Pig Dinner

Pig Dinner 2015 will be held on February 20th thru 22nd.

Please make plans to attend. The formal invite from the chapter should have reached you by now. Please contact the Pig Dinner chair (see below) if you have any questions or not received the official invitation. This willl be the 46th Norris Pig Dinner at Sigma Mu. The class of 1990 will be recognized as Silver Owl receipients. This will be a Pig Dinner that you will not want to miss. I urge each of you to make plans to attend this historic Pig Dinner.

  Hotel Room Reservations: The Holiday Inn Express on Hwy 12 will be our headquarters hotel for the weekend. The hotel has provided us with a block of room for $109.00 per night and they will be held until February 6th. To make reservations, please call 662.324.0076 and ask for the Phi Gamma Delta block group id: PGD. This year there will be a basketball (Arkansas) AND baseball (Marshal/Alabama A&M) games on campus that weekend. So, please make your reservations as quickly as possible. Make reservations by contacting the hotel directly using the number above. The hotel's website can be access using this link.

2015 Itinerary

Friday, February 20th

11:15 am to 1:00 pm Lunch at Obie's

Informal gathering for any brothers in town by then. Contact Rick Hartfield at 601.940.5978 for directions and to save a seat.

2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Hospitality Suite Open at Holiday Inn Express Room 320

6:30 pm MSU baseball vs. Alabama A&M

Catch several innings before coming over to the reception.

6:30 pm – until Reception

Franc Lee's "home away from home", also known as Pure Water Ridge. Located one block directly north of the Holiday Express Hotel at 202 E. Gillespie St. A convenient walk out the back of the hotel, one block north.

Open to all graduate brothers. Heavy Hors D’oeuvres and open bar provided through the generousity of Franc Lee . Digitally enhanced video presentations of the"Fiji Flicks" from the 70s will run continuously. Scrapbooks and other pictures/slides will be available for review. MSU baseball game will be on SECN.

Saturday, February 21st

7:00am – 8:00am Breakfast at Holiday Inn Express

Informal gathering for any brothers interested.

8:30am – 9:30am House Corporation Meeting at the Chapter House

All interested brothers are encouraged to attend. Important issues about the house will be discussed. Pastries and donuts will be provided

10:00 pm – 11:30 am Board of Chapter Advisors Meeting at the Chapter House

All interested brothers are encouraged to attend. Future of the chapter will be discussed.

Noon– 1:30pm Lunch at the Perry Cafeteria on campus

Informal gathering. Come for the “brotherhood” not necessarily the food.

2:00pm - 4:00pm Hospitality Suite Open at Holiday Inn Express Room 320

2:00pm - 5:00pm MSU Baseball vs. Marshal

Catch several innings before coming over to Pig Dinner.

5:00pm – 7:30 pm PIG DINNER – M-Club, Leo Seal Fieldhouse. $65 per brother.

Burial of Pig's head

9:00pm to 11:00pm Social at Hotel Chester (Downtown)

Entertainment will be provided by the sounds of "Delta Heart", comprised of Porter Robinson '75, Aubry Earnhardt '73, Winston Earnhardt '74 and Bryon Earnhardt (Phi Kappa Pi).

10:30pm - until Hospitality Suite Open at Holiday Inn Express Room 320

Sunday, February 22nd

8:00am – until Breakfast at Starkville Café, Downtown

Informal gathering for any brothers interested. This is a tradition that has taken place for at least the last 7 to 8 Pig Dinner weekends. It is an ESB ( Lee Wilson’s 1975 phrase) Extra Slow Breakfast. Please RSVP to Rick Hartfield so that we can reserve their "side room".
